My Favorite Beauty Products of 2012!

Hello again, everyone. Sorry I've been MIA for a while, life got hectic, what do ya do? :) I thought it would only be fair for me to make it up by doing a long post, so what better than to share my favorite products of 2012 with you guys! Now, bear with me, I have a lot to talk about, but I couldn't leave any of these products out!

St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer: This is the morning moisturizer I've ben using. I love it because it is light weight, moisturizes well, but doesn't make me look oily. The tube is huge and will last me forever (or until it expires :P)
MAC Painterly Paint Pot: I bought this in March and have used the crap out of it since. My eyeshadow never creases when I use this.
Wet n Wild Mega Liner: Best liquid liner ever. I think I've talked about this enough so let's keep it short. Stays in place, easy to use, perfection.
Urban Decay Naked Palette: This is definitely worth the money. I use it all the time.
Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me: Moisturizing, and gives me the perfect tint to my lips. Smells great too!
Jack Black Lip Balm: My favorite lip balm. My lips are always at it's best when I use this. I love the minty feeling as well.
NYX HD Eye Definition Base: I cannot do my makeup without this stuff! I will NEVER stop using this. Best primer I've ever used.
Revlon Smoky Shadow Stick in Torch: The light shade is the perfect base. Makes my eyeshadow last all day.
Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells Trio: Mine is depotted, but the color I use the most is the lid shade. Easy, and perfect for every day.
MAC Satin Taupe: Probably my favorite crease color of the whole year. I couldn't stop using this for the longest time. Still is well used, just try to give my other eyeshadows some love as well :)
Wet n Wild Single Eyeshadow in Panther: This is the best matte black ever. I can't tell you how often I reach for this shade.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Zero: This lasts in my waterline better than any other pencil, and it doesn't irritate my eyes. Best of both worlds.
Not Pictured
Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Mascara: This was the best mascara I tried all year long. Gave my tiny lashes great length and volume. Sad I don't have another tube of this yet, but I will probably repurchase it when all my other mascaras are gone.
E.L.F Moisturizing Lip Tint SPF 8 in Rose: The lip color I got the most use out of all year. This is the best moisturizing product I used all year, and the color was really flattering with my fair skin.

So those were my stand out products of the year! Please share yours with me down below, I'd love a new list of products to try out! Hope you guys had a wonderful holiday season, and I will talk to you all soon <3

My Go To Everyday Eyeshadow Brushes!

Let's talk about some eye makeup brushes today, shall we? I think makeup brushes are very important and is one area that I don't mind spending a little extra money in, however, my everyday eyeshadow brushes are all very affordable and I cannot live without any of them! Keep reading to find out what they are.

First off, please excuse my dirty brushes! I used them this morning before work and didn't have time to clean them and make them look nice before I wrote this post :)

Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush: This is part of the starter kit they have, which retails for ($17.99), but includes 5 brushes. I use this to lay down a matte light brown eyeshadow color into my crease to create depth and make blending other colors into my crease much easier. I also use this for blending out looks at the very end if I need to.

E.L.F Eyeshadow "C" Brush: ($3) This is such a cheap brush, but the quality is honestly fantastic. I use this daily for packing color onto my lid and I cannot complain. It gets the job done.

Coastal Scents Pro Blending Fluff Brush: ($4.95) I use this to apply color into my crease and to blend, it works flawlessly. Easily my favorite brush I own. It's so versatile, I could create a whole eyeshadow look with it.

I do own a lot more brushes, these are just the ones I reach for daily for basic everyday looks. If you would like me to do more posts on other brushes I love, just let me know! What are your go to eyeshadow brushes?

Products I've Been Loving: 12/9-12/15!

Sorry for posting this a day later than normal! I didn't have time to sit down and type up a super long blog post because it was a busy day for me.

Naked Palette: ($50) Finally picked this up! I've been testing it out this week, used almost every single color in there and I'm just loving the endless options this palette can create!

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze: (~$6) This was a good base to use under colors from my naked palette. Really helped enhance the beautiful colors I put on top of it.

Be a Bombshell Lip Gloss in Hot Mess: ($14) This is a beautiful red color! I wear this on it's own and I love how it looks. It is a true red. I cannot get enough of this stuff!

Wanted to add another picture of this since I take my pictures in natural lighting and it washed out the color of the lip gloss in the above picture!

L.A. Colors Base Coat Top Coat: ($1) I ran out of my top coat a few months ago so I picked this up at a local dollar tree so I could paint my nails when I got home. For the price, this is amazing! It primes the nails nicely, and it a pretty darn good top coat in my opinion. It is a really thin formula, and I don't mind that. It is very shiny and I can go many days without chipping with this stuff on top of any nail polish! I wish more people knew about this product.

These products are all truly amazing! Today I want to know your favorites in a comment down below! I need some drugstore makeup suggestions especially because my mom wants to fill my stocking with some new goodies! Thanks guys!

Makeup Storage Idea: Mesh Desk Organizers!

This is just going to be a quick post for you guys sharing with you a makeup storage idea that truly saved my collection! I use to worry about having enough room to store my makeup palettes but this has changed things for me! I purchased a mesh desk organizer from Walmart in the office supply section for under $3! This gives me space to hold my odd and end palettes and my z palette, yet doesn't take up much room on my actual desk!

Do you use this method to store makeup palettes?

Neutrogena 3-in-1 Concealer for eyes: Review!

Today I am sharing with you all a product I picked up from Neutrogena quite a while ago. Let me start off by saying, I haven't had good luck with almost all of the skincare items I tried for their line. It's not that the products aren't great, because I know so many people love their stuff, it just isn't a good match for my skin.

I saw this raved about in a YouTube video so I thought, ehh why not give it a shot. I ordered it online from Drugstore . com when they had a good sale on it.

This claims to be a 3-in-1 product. It's suppose to be your concealer, eye cream, and your SPF. I bought this in the color fair 05. Concealer wise, this covered nothing on my undereye area. I'm very fair skinned, so underneath my right eye you can see my veins. This product didn't cover it, and it actually drew more attention to it. I was so upset. It did not provide any coverage for my undereye circles either. I don't find it moisturizing enough to be considered an "eye cream", it actually cakes up under my eyes with the smallest amount and settles into the lines I have under my eyes. I do like that this product has SPF in it, although I will not wear this product just to have SPF under my eyes, I will choose something else.

Since I ordered it online I didn't want to return it so I kept it hiding away in my collection. If I spend money on a product, especically a lot like I did on this one, I want to try to use it for anything I possibly can. So I dug it out of my collection and set it on my makeup area to find a use for it. I am human and mess up my eyeshadow towards the outer corner quite a bit ha ooops. I now use this product to fix those mistakes or to make my eyeshadow look even on both sides! If I want a percise line with my makeup, I won't use tape like some beauty gurus do. I will just clean my eyeshadow up with this concealer and my makeup looks perfect!

Do I think this product is worth spending ~$9 on? Of course not. It doesn't live up to the claims on it's bottle so that immediately changes my mind about this product, and for the price you can find something better than this. If you are looking for an undereye concealer, I would try Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer instead.

I hope this blog post inspires you to take products out of your collection you may hate, and try to use them for a different purpose if you are able to! If you spend money on something, you should at least get your moneys worth out of it!

Any of you out there have visible veins under your eyes? If so let me know if you found a product that is more effective at covering them up!

Wet n Wild Single Eyeshadow in Panther: Review & Swatch!

Hello again, everyone! I'm here today to share with you my favorite black eyeshadow. The best part? It's only $1.99! Can you say amazing? Keep reading for a full review.

As part of their color icon line, Wet n Wild has a set of single eyeshadows. The one I'm reviewing today is panther. It is a deep, true matte black. It has the slightest bit of sparkle when you look at it, but swatched and on your eyes it is completely matte! The formulation is just like the other shadows by Wet n Wild, smooth and easy to work with. The pigmentation is great. I like using this to deepen up my eye looks, or even use it as an eyeliner! And let's be honest, the price is unbeatable! This is the best black I have in my entire collection.

Here's a quick swatch for you all! As you can see, it doesn't disappoint. I'm truly a fan of many Wet n Wild products, and I think every makeup lover needs a good matte black in their collection! I recommend picking this up!

Oh Christmas Tree: Simple Nail Design

Today I'm going to share a very simple nail art look that anyone can do! I recommend using this as an accent nail for the holiday season! Keep reading for step by step insturctions!

Step 1: Paint a base of your chosing. This is Wet n Wild Megalast in 2% Milk if you are curious.

Step 2: Tape a V shape onto your nail. Paint on your color of chosing for your christmas tree! I'm using JulieG Under Mistletoe.

Step 3: This is optional, but I painted a multi glitter top coat on my tree to symbolize ornaments. I used JulieG Light It Up.

And there you go guys! I didn't add anymore detail to this because I wanted to keep this as simple as possible. You can easily add to this to make it even better :)

Are you guys into nail designs?

Haul and First Impressions: Physicians Formula, Maybelline, & Urban Decay!

So I was a bad girl and purchased some more makeup. I had a $15 off coupon at Sephora that I wasn't going to pass up though so I thought it would be the perfect time for me to splurge on something nice for myself.

Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Face Powder: I wanted to give this a try since it is in fact talc free and I've had good luck with mineral makeup in the past. I've only used it once so far and I think it gives pretty decent coverage. Lasted pretty well on my skin as well. I will probably review this further in the future once I fully form an opinion on it.

Maybelline Color Explosion in Blue Blowout: Basically bought it because of the glittery silver color. Blue is my favorite color but I don't really wear it on my eyes like ever. I hope with this palette I will come up with some really gorgeous looks though. Let me know if you'd like to see that. From the quick swatches, I can tell the pigmentation is decent and the consistency of the eyeshadows is nice.

Urban Decay Naked Palette: This is what I ended up purchasing at Sephora. I figured with $15 off it was a good time to splurge on this item. $50 is a splurge for me just because I can't continually fork out that kind of money for one product, but the price honestly isn't that bad if you remind yourself you get 12 eyeshadows. I've wore this on my eyes once already and I loved the look I tried out. I used sidecar, smog, buck, and hustle just if any of you guys are curious. If any of you would like me to do a post on this sharing my opinion on whether I think it is worth the money for people on a budget or not, let me know!
I also tried out the eyeshadow primer that comes with it. I got 10 hours of wear out of it. I'm impressed with it, but considering how much I love my nyx shadow base along with my MAC paint pot, I don't see myself running out to purchase this on its own in the future. We will see.

I know every makeup lover out there is familiar with the UD Naked Palette already, but just provided swatches anyways.

What were your most recent makeup purchases? Have you tried any of these products?

Shimmery Red Holiday Eye

Good morning, everyone! I was admiring the beauty of my Milani Baked Blush in Red Vino earlier and thought it would make a beautiful eyeshadow. So guess what I did? I quick came up with a wearable look that would be holiday appropriate. I personally think red eyeshadow is too daring for me, but this blush is beautiful red/cranberry color with gold shimmer so I had to give it a shot. I ended up really liking the outcome!

So what did I use? Let's check it out!

Wet n Wild Idol Eyes Crème Eyeshadow in Pixie: All over lid as base
Hard Candy High Maintenance Duo (Light Color): All over lid
Urban Decay Naked & Buck: Blended into crease
Milani Baked Blush in Red Vino: Blended into crease all the way into inner corner
Jordana FabuLiner: Lined upper lash line

This was the end result. Let me know what you guys think! What are your opinions on red eyeshadow?

Products I've Been Loving: 12/2-12/8!

I cannot believe how fast the weeks are flying by guys! 2012 is almost over, just blows my mind. It's Saturday, so it's time for another products I've been loving post! People seem to really like these, let me know in a comment if you agree!

This week I was pretty laidback in the beauty department because I just worked a bunch. I have to get up early and I don't sleep well at night so when I work really early I usually just use no fuss makeup if I even wear any.

JulieG Nail Polish Gift Wrapped: This is a beautiful shimmery magenta color. I do not like red nail polish so finding a similar color that I am in love with is a total surprise! I wore this on my nails all week because I loved the color that much :) I also got a lot of compliments on it.

Hard Candy Duo in High Maintenance: Can I just say it makes me laugh that I liked this product so much this week because of the name and my beauty routine was as low maintenance as possible? The colors are beyond shimmery and look really flattering on the eyes. You can wear them wet or dry but I don't notice much of a difference honestly.

Wet n Wild Idol Eyes Crème Shadow Pencil in Pixie: I use this on my inner corner and sometimes as an eyeshadow base. It would pair very well with the Hard Candy Duo!

Check out the swatches!

Pixie, High Maintenance Duo
That's it guys :) I've got exciting posts coming up in the next couple days!

Motivational Fitness Quotes I Live By!

Hello, fellow fit beauties :) Today I'm finally doing my first fitness post! A lot of what inspires me to keep staying active is motivational quotes! Is anyone else the same way? I thought I would share a few of my favorites with you guys.

Let me first start of by describing my fitness life briefly for you guys. I work out to stay fit, not to be skinny. I am 5'2 and 110 pounds. I will include what workouts I do and such in a future post, but I just wanted to throw out the fact that I'm not working out to lose weight. I work out to be healthy! I wish that was everyones philosophy when working out. I wish the world was at peace with their bodies and didn't bash themselves so much. Okay, I'll stop rambling. Let's get on to those quotes, shall we?

You can have results or excuses NOT BOTH
It's not that you can't it's that you won't
YOU decide if you are tired. It's your choice
It's you vs. you
Good habits are as addictive as bad habits, and are a lot more rewarding.
A sore body today is a strong body tomorrow
The only bad workout is the one that didn't happen
Go the extra mile. It's never crowded
It's never to late to become what you might have been
And, of course No pain no gain!

So there you guys! Those are a few of my fitness motivational quotes. I have some advice for you if you need motivation. Try finding quotes that inspire you, and type em up and print them out and put them somewhere you will see every day. Make a cute poster, or put them in your phone. Reminding yourself will definitely make you more likely to stick to a workout plan. While working out, recite quotes that help with the situation you are in.

Just remember. Your body will never wear out. It can handle anything. It's your mind that is telling you to stop. (Obviously, unless you are injured) If you learn to conquer a good mind set, you are set for a life filled with working out :)

So good luck guys! I encourage you all to be active and fit, not shoot for being "skinny" or "buff". If you have any motivational quotes, please leave them in a comment below!

Lip Gloss Favorite: E.L.F Plumping Lip Glaze

I'm not a huge lip gloss girl. Personally, lip gloss to me seems to make people appear overdone, which isn't a look I usually like. When I do feel in the mood to wear lip gloss though, I definitely reach for these bad boys. I just love them.

I have them in two colors, Baby Doll (in the middle) and Wink Pink (on right). The first swatch is just the plumping side, as you can see it is just white and shimmery. Baby doll is definitely peachy in my opinion, and has shimmer in it. Wink Pink is just a true baby pink.

The colors are kind of sheer on their own, but I find if I pair them with like colors, these are fantastic. You do not get a lot of product in each one, but I think for $1 you still get plenty. This lip gloss is not sticky at all, and honestly feels good on my lips. I can't really say the plumping side does much, but it does give a nice minty cooling tingle to the lips that I do like. I just don't use it often. I don't think the smell of either of the sides is bad either.

For a dollar, I think these are worth checking out! Have any of you tried these before? What are your favorite ELF products?

NYC City Duet Eyeshadow in NYC Times: Review and Swatches

Being the makeup junkie that I am, I bought a few of the NYC City Duet shadows on a total whim because they were on sale for under $1. I really like NYC, I have a few of their products that I think are fantastic and they are obviously really affordable. I also am always looking for new matte shadows that are great. Who can complain for the price, right? Apparently Ashley.

One of the shades I picked up is NYC Times. It contains a matte white and black so I had high hopes for this product.

Here are the claims, and what I think of them.

Ultra silky texture, comfortable all day long - No

Intense, color-rich shades - Intense? In what world?
Long-lasting eye shadow - With primer
Color glides on smoothly, evenly - Look at the swatches above. I don't think they are very smooth. Too chalky.

As you can tell from the swatches, they do not go on evenly, the pigmentation is not there, and they are so chalky. I know we are talking drugstore makeup, but Wet n Wild has some of the best eyeshadows ever in my opinion, so I expect similar quality from NYC then. That's fair, right? The black doesn't even look like a black, it is more gray, even after the color is built up. Oh, and the white is practically invisible.

These retail for $2.99, and honestly, I say save your money and go pick up some Wet n Wild trios. I cannot recommend this particular duo to you guys. I have two more of these so I will be reviewing them probably sometime in the future.

What are your favorite matte eyeshadows? Please let me know!

JulieG 2012 Holiday Collection: Review and Swatches!

Good morning, girls :) I've been all about everything that will get me in the Christmas mood this year! I've been enjoying the photo a day challenge on instagram and blogging every day with some holiday themes. All of this just makes me extra excited for the holidays this year. So I thought I'd share a holiday collection with you all today.

Big Red Bow, Under Mistletoe, Light It Up, Ornamental, Gift Wrapped

I originally saw a swatch of Light It Up on instagram and immediately knew I wanted to get my hands on this color. However, I do not have a Rite Aid in my state so I had to order it online. Not sure what part of me said, Ashley, you need all these colors, because my nail polish collection is already big enough. Somehow I ended up ordering the whole collection, story of my life!

I'm not going to go super in depth with this review, just cover the basics!

Thumb: Gift Wrapped - Magenta shimmer. Opaque in one coat.
Pointer: Big Red Bow - Red shimmer. Opaque in one coat.
Middle: Light It Up - Multi colored and sized glitter. One quick swipe across the nails was done above. Absolutely beautiful. Looks good over any color, or can be built up for an accent color.
Ring: Ornamental - Gold shimmer. Opaque in one coat.
Pinky: Under Mistletoe - Green shimmer. Pretty sheer, even with two coats, which is what is on my nail.

I just had to include a picture of Light It Up. Look at that gorgeousness. Just makes me happy to look at it, lame I know!

All of these colors apply smoothly and go on opaque in one coat, aside from Under Mistletoe which needs between 2-3 coats. Staying power seems great with these polishes with a basic top coat, I've gone about 4 days and only had one little chip that was barely noticeable.

Overall, I recommend you pick up these shades! I think they are very holiday appropriate and are very festive. My favorites are Light It Up and Gift Wrapped. I'm not a huge fan of Under Mistletoe just because the quality isn't as high as the other four, but I still recommend it if you like the color! These are $3.99 each and can be purchased at Rite Aid or online at Jesses Girl cosmetics!

What are you favorite holiday nail polishes?

Classic Holiday Makeup Look

I think the safest look to rock for the holidays is dramatic winged eyeliner and a bright red lip. I thought it would be helpful to share with you guys the products I use to achieve this look, in case you want to create this look for the holidays but need affordable products to use! I’ll include the steps I used down below as well!

Face:
Maybelline Pure Stay Powder Foundation

Eyes:
NYX HD Eye Shadow Base
MAC Painterly Paint Pot
Wet n Wild Lust Palette (Cream colored Shimmery Shade)
ELF 32 Eyeshadow Warm Palette (Light Matte Brown Shade) Anything will work!
Wet n Wild Mega Liner in Black Sparkle
Wet n Wild Idol Eyes Crème Shadow Pencil in Pixie

I put nyx shadow base and mac paint pot on as my primer. I then took a creamed colored shimmery shade and applied it all over my lid. Took a light matte brown and lightly ran it through my crease for some definition. I winged out my eyeliner using the wet n wild mega liner. Finished off the look with putting a wet n wild crème shadow in my inner corner to add a nice sheen.

Lips:
ELF Matte Lip Color in Tea Rose
Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick in Hot Paris Pink
Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie

I quickly outlined my lips with a matte dusty rose color but any color will do for this. I just like using a deeper color to really define my lips but the main purpose is to just keep the red lipstick in place. I then applied wet n wild hot paris pink all over my lips and topped it off with revlon lip butter in berry smoothie for a deeper look and to add a really pretty glossy appearance to the lips.

I hope my little explanations made sense to you guys. This is a really easy sure fire look to rock for the holidays and I just adore it. I like to be a little more daring with my makeup during the holidays though, so I will be back with a more exciting look for you guys in the near future :)

What makeup looks do you like wearing for the holidays? Do you find this post helpful or not?

All I Want for Christmas: Beauty Wishlist!

I thought it would be fun to share with you what I'd love to get for Christmas this year beauty wise. Keep in mind I am not actually asking for all of these things for Christmas, nor do I expect I will even get any of these, this is just on my wishlist this year :)

Too Faced Natural Eye Neutral Eye Shadow Collection: Every time I see this eyeshadow palette in use on youtube and such, I just love every single look I see. I already have an abundance of eyeshadow, but I feel this would be a safe palette to add to my collection because I love neutral looks.

Sephora In The Glow Set: Omg, there are so many products in here that I am dying to try. I'd rather spend the $45 on this set and see if I really like products before I go out and spend $45 on the full size products that I maybe don't like. Just a beautiful combination set that I'd love to test out.

LORAC 3D Liquid Lustre in Diamond: This just looks absolutely beautiful. I would say this is towards the bottom of my list of these products because it's something I don't really need, but I feel this would be absolutely stunning for special occassions and $16 is not a bad price at all.

Selena Gomez Eau de Parfum Spray: I usually like to ask for a perfume for Christmas because I do not like buying them for myself (I feel guilty spending that much money on myself ;). I was smelling the JB perfume Someday and was convinced that would be the one I'd ask for because the scent lingers all day and just smells really fresh and nice, but the lady at the counter I was at made me smell this and OMG. This honestly smells amazing. I can't really describe scents at all, but this is just really fruity but still smells sophisticated in my opinion. Other perfumes I like are Britney Spears Fantasy and DKNY Be Delicious. If you have similar perfume likes to me, you gotta try out the Selena Gomez perfume! Oh, and the perfume bottle is gorgeous!

Let me know your beauty wishlist down below :) I love getting suggestions from you guys :)

I have lots of holiday themed blog posts in mind and like I promised, I will be posting every day up until Christmas so keep checking back on my blog for some fun new posts :) Thanks so much for reading guys.

Products I've Been Loving: 11/25-12/1!

Happy December lovely ladies :) I hope you all had a wonderful month of November. Today I'm going to share with you the products I have been loving for the end of November.

Come back every day in December up until Christmas for a new post :)

All of my products this week are new and affordable, with the exception of one. Let's jump right into it :)

NYC Blushable Creme Stick in Berry New Yorker: ($3.99) This applies to the cheeks as a dusty rose color. I'm am fair skinned, and if I apply this lightly, it looks beautiful on. I would recommend this more for medium to dark skin tones but I can still pull it off if I really blend it out! I just draw it onto my checks and blend it out with my fingers. People talk about these being discontinued but I still see them around and they are stil listed on the NYC website so I'm not sure what to believe! If you can find these still, pick up some shades :)

Prestige Waterproof Eyeliner in Black: (~$5.25) This is not the most jet black eyeliner, however this lasts the best in my waterline and does not irritate my eyes! I have bad luck with eyeliners on my waterline but I cannot complain with this one. If you have similar problems as I do, I would definitely try this one.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze: (~$6) This was my go to summer shade! I pulled it out of my collection this week to use and found if I apply this in a thicker layer, and then pop MAC Satin Taupe in the crease this looks beautiful for a fall look! The color tattoos are my favorite cream eyeshadow and I love each and every color of them I own!

MAC Satin Taupe: ($12) Talked about this quite a bit already on my blog. This is pretty much my go to every day eyeshadow. I can throw it into any look and it just works. So versatile and beautiful.

Revlon Colorstay Quad in Addictive: (~$7) I've been using the warm matte brown a lot to deepen up any looks I've done recently and it's surprisingly worked out for me. The quad itself doesn't really impress me because I feel the shadows aren't that pigmented and are super powdery, but I reach for that brown a lot and can't complain about that color.

I thought it would be helpful to include swatches of my favorites for you guys.

(Bad to the Bronze, Satin Taupe, Addictvie matte brown, Prestige eyeliner, and Berry New Yorker)

That's all for this week guys :) Leave your favorite products right now down below!

MAC Syrup Lipstick: Swatch and Review!

Today I'm going to share with you my first MAC lipstick purchase! I saw this color online and drooled over it for many months so I thought it would be worth picking up.

Let me start off with a quick complaint, can I just say I think this lipstick smells horrible? I always heard it smelled like vanilla but this very much had an old lipstick smell, eww. I didn't like it at all.

This is a lustre finish, so it is kind of sheer and has a nice sheen to it. I was kind of hoping for it to be a little more pigmented, but on the lips it does look pretty.

It's described as a cloudy pink, and thats what it is. I do really like this lipstick, but it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. Definitely doesn't look as good on my lips as it does on most people. Regardless, I definitely recommend this lipstick if you are in the market for a wearable every day fall lipstick :)

Have you tried this lipstick? What are your thoughts on it?

Similar Product for MAC Woodwinked

Today I’m sharing with you guys two eyeshadows that I find strangely similar. Fair warning, this is not an exact dupe! I just was so impressed by the beauty of MAC’s woodwinked, that I thought I would share this similar eyeshadow with you all. Feel free to disagree, just trying to provide an affordable option for you guys that can pretty much give you the same look on the eyes. Also, I'm sure you can find something even more similar to this in say a coastal scents palette, but I wanted to let you guys know about this incase you were wanting to try woodwinked but couldn't spend the money on it.

As you can tell, they look nothing alike in the pan. You can already tell which product is better quality, as well, along with the slight differences I've found in them. Let's look at swatches because that is where the magic happens.

My “similar” product can be found in the Maybelline Chai Latte quad. The lid shade is a beautiful shimmery golden brown color. I consider MAC woodwinked to be a shimmery bronzy gold brown as well. The main difference I see with them is the finish. The Maybelline one is definitely shimmery in the sense that is will transfer shimmer onto the eyes (as in little sparkles). The MAC one, however, just has a nice pretty sheen to it (no apparent shimmer) and is very metallic. And I would say woodwinked leans more “orangey” than the other. When I wear these on my eyes I pretty much cannot tell the difference. And I will say MAC eyeshadows are easier to work with, but for the price difference I feel you could easily work with a cheaper product.

So even though I cannot consider these “exact dupes”, I definitely can tell you these products are “similar”. If you are looking for a really affordable alternative for MAC woodwinked, I would pick up the Maybelline quad. MAC eyeshadow = $12 for the pan. Maybelline quad = ~ $4.99.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post. What are your favorite MAC dupes? Leave them down below!

Review: Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells Trio!

Today I'm going to share my thoughts with you guys on the Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells trio. Excuse my really dirty palette.

As you can probably tell, this trio has gotten quite a bit of love from me. Each eyeshadow has words indented in them to tell you how you can use these colors. This trio includes a browbone shade, crease, and lid color.

Pictures of the swatches are taken in natural lighting.
Browbone: Light shimmery gold/white shade (MAC shroom dupe)
Crease: Bronzey brown shade (MAC cork dupe)
Lid: Peachy pink shade (my favorite) (MAC naked lunch)

The pigmentation of these eyeshadows is amazing, and the consistency is very creamy. I still make sure to tap off the access when using these shades to prevent fallout but it's not required.

Now let's talk about how I use this palette. I do not use the browbone shade on my browbone. This is a beautiful inner corner shade. The other two I use as directed. As you can tell, the lid shade has been a favorite of mine, I use this any day I want to wear a natural simple eye.

Wet n Wild shades easily rival my MAC eyeshadows. While I love MAC shadows, I love that Wet n Wild is able to produce shades that are almost exact dupes (three in one palette?!) For $2.99, these trios are hard to beat. I recommend you guys pick this palette up! Please, go now!

Do you have any trios by Wet n Wild you think I should try out? Leave your suggestions down below!

Products I've Been Loving: 11/18-11/24!

Today I'm going to be sharing with you all the products I've been loving this past week!

I'm going to hop right into it!
Covergirl Lash Perfection + L'Oreal Voluminous Extra-Volume Collagen Mascaras: I believe that is the name of the L'Oreal mascara! I have very wimpy lashes, but these two in conjuction with each other work very well for me. I curl my lashes, apply the Covergirl one first to get length, and then use the L'Oreal one for volume. If you would like to see either a video of how I do this or just before an after pictures including a description of the process in detail, let me know! But to be honest, I do not like these mascaras much on their own. They just don't do enough for me.

Wet n Wild Mega Liner: This one showed up again because I had a pretty laid back week makeup wise, so I usually only wore eyeliner, no eyeshadow so I had to include this again.

Maybelline Pure Stay Powder Foundation: I've only been using this for about a week, but I am loving it. I use this without concealer underneath and still get really great coverage. Let me just tell you, I have really bad redness, but this covered it up all day. Amazing and unheard of. This lasts like all day too which I love. Now, talc is a main ingredient and I know there is a lot of controversy about that in makeup products, but I am still forming an opinion on it. If you guys have any good information I should know about talc, let me know in a comment please! Love this, not sure if I will repurchase, depends what I continue to learn about talc.

Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Muse: Had to mention this because it has been on my nails all week and has barely chipped. The color is beautiful for fall in my opinion. It is a dark gray taupe color that can appear to have a hint of purple as well.

Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake: This color looks very intimidating when you look at in, but on my lips it is honestly very natural and looks beautiful. I pulled this out of my collection this week and I can't believe how much I love this. It is very moisturizing and doesn't make my lips look dry (my number one complaint with lip products).

MAC Paint Pot in Painterly: This gets a huge shoutout this week since I was lazy with makeup. This hides the veins that pop through above my eyes and keeps my eyeliner on all day long. I just can't rave about this enough. It is my favorite eye primer and I will purchase it next time I run out.

Well that is it for my favorite products this week! Sorry the products were so boring, I didn't feel like doing much with my makeup! I'm going to have a post up very soon that is fitness related, so I hope you guys will check back for that!

If you have an suggestions for some great holiday gift sets from high end makeup brands you have tried or want to try, please leave a comment below. I'm trying to find some sets that I can try out / review!

Thanks so much for stopping by again guys :)

Rave & Rant: Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks

I'm a huge fan of Revlon lip products, especially their Colorburst lipsticks. This is why I was so surprised to have a holy grail and hate product both from the same line.

Let's start out with Baby Pink. By looking at the top of the packaging, this looks like it would be a beautiful pink color with a hint of shimmer. Sounds so pretty, right? When swatched, you can tell how frosty this shade really is. I automatically knew this would not look flattering on my lips.

My first problem I have with this shade? It is so sheer. And second of all, it just transfers as frost onto my lips. The frost latches on to all the lines on my lips and makes them looked ultra chapped. I never wear this shade because I simply do not like the look of it and I do not feel I can pull it off. It is very drying on my lips as well.

Now let's talk about my holy grail nude lipstick. Soft Nude. I would consider this more of a peachy nude lip color and it is very flattering with my pale skin.

The formulation on this is very nice, however I do still apply a lip balm underneath so this color goes on smooth and looks nice on my lips. This nude will not work for everyone, but if you are a pale girl like I am definitely give this one a shot!

Overall, I am very impressed with this lipstick line. I would never recommend Baby Pink to you guys, however. If you are into frosty lipsticks on your lips though, give it a shot.

These retail for about $7, depending where you are picking these up. I actually found these at Big Lots quite a while ago and only paid $2 for each so I cannot complain too much about Baby Pink, but I'd feel ripped off spending $7 for that thing. I definitely would spend $7 for the rest of this line though!

Hope this review was helpful for you guys. Do you have any lipstick suggestions for me?

Nail Talk: What I Wore This Week!

Happy Sunday, everyone! Today I am going to talk about the nail looks I wore this week. I'll give little reviews along the way to let you know what I thought about the products. Keep reading if you are interested :)

First off, I tried out the imPRESS press on manicure in payback. I've been wanting to try this out for a long time, but was very skeptical. On a recent shopping trip to Walgreens, I found this on sale for $3.99 and it was lepoard print, which I adore. Score. Or so I thought. The packaging claims it could last up to a week. I put these on last Sunday night and by Tuesday morning they were already off. They didn't even last two full days, say what? The lasting power was not good enough for me. The only way I'll ever buy these again is if I see another cute pair I like for a special occassion. On Sale.

Finally, I enjoyed this manicure so much I wore it the remainder of the week. Sally Hansen Pacific Blue with Sinful Colors Nail Junkie on top. Can I just say I loved this combination? This didn't chip on me all the way up until Sunday (today) when I finally decided to take it off. I'm very impressed with the lasting power on this. Both are really great products.

If you were interested in the imPRESS nails, I personally wouldn't recommend them because for a days wear it was a waste of both money and my time. I definitely recommend the other two nails polishes though!

Thanks for stopping by guys :)

Products I've Been Loving: 11/11-11/17/12!

Good morning, everyone!

I thought it would be a fun idea to do a weekly favorites type post for you guys. Since I'm just starting this blog, it will help you guys get a feel for the products I like to use and will really tell you which products I love if they keep appearing in these posts. Let me know if you guys like this idea in a comment please!

As you guys will learn, I am mainly a drugstore girl. Anyways, lets get started!

Wet n Wild Mega Liner: This is the best liquid liner I have ever used. It is very user friendly. I hated liquid liner until I discovered this product. I currently have this in the color 860 black sparkle. I bought this on accident after running out of the plain black one but this one is still just as good. Just not as black as 861.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Primrose: This is a beautiful pink that is definitely purple/mauve toned. Let me know if you would like me to include a swatch of this on my lips in a future review. One thing I like about this product is it is a very wearable pink and once it sets into your lips, it doesn't transfer to your drink, which I love.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder: I have this in the color 011 creamy natural. This is just a light setting powder that never looks cakey on my skin. I have an oily t-zone and I will be honest this doesn't keep me matte all day. It is just an inexpensive powder that makes my skin look nice.

MAC Satin Taupe: This is a beautiful cool toned purpley taupe color. On my eyes, it just transfers as a shimmery taupe color and it looks good with any look I pair it with. I will definitely post pictures of looks I create with this eyeshadow if you are interested.

Coastal Scents Pro Blending Fluff brush (250): This is an amazing crease brush. I use this every day for adding color into my crease, and then to blend out my look. So multi-purpose and works great.

Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells Palette: I've been using the eyelid shade only this week. It is a frosty light peachy pink color. I like pairing this with MAC satin taupe.

So there you go guys! Those are the products I've been loving this week! Let me know if you would like me to individually review any of them because I am definitely willing to. Also, leave me comments letting me know if you like this type of post. I'd love to know your feedback.
