L'Oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer Review!

Well, it's Monday guys. Hope you are all having a fantastic day. Mine has been so beyond busy, working all day plus classes are starting but I still wanted to be able to find time to blog!

Today I'm going to share a product review on the L'Oreal Magic Lumi Primer. I'm the type of person who likes to use products as they are stated to use, that is fair right? Well I simply cannot use this as a primer. It feels way too heavy on my skin! Not to mention, when adding products on top of it, you lose the "glow" aspect of this product. I'm not really a fan of this as a primer in general because I feel like there are definitely better quality ones even in the drugstore. I so badly wanted to like this since it had special luminating features but it doesn't come through in this aspect for me.

As you can tell, this is straight up pearly white. I'm not saying that is a bad thing, I'm sure some people really enjoy this about it. I'm just not a fan of that.

Once blended into the skin, it does look very nice. But I don't like that you can detect a white patch on my cheeks when I wear this as a highlighter.

All in all, I'm not to impressed with this product. For about $11-12, I could easily have saved that money and put it towards a product I would enjoy much more. Do you enjoy this primer?

L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush Review!

Today I'm going to share with you all my thoughts on the L'Oreal Infallible in Amber Rush! This is talked about so much in the beauty community and when I saw this color, I knew I just had to pick it up!

This a rose gold coppery color. When swatched with my finger, the pigmentation of this shade is great.

The problem I have with this, is when applied with a brush, I need to build the color up to really get the same pigmentation.

To get the same amount of color payoff with a brush, I had to basically dig my brush in the product and build it up three times. If you look at the first picture I included, the fourth picture (bottom right) was taken after one use with a brush. I cannot believe how much product I had to use just to get a good color payoff all across my eyelids. Maybe this doesn't bother others, but this product wasn't cheap. I don't feel for $8 that I should have to use that much product for one application because the product may not last a long time in that case!

While I like the consistency, the fact that it is a powder, but applies like a cream, I'm not sure exactly how I feel about this yet. Don't get me wrong, the color is beautiful and when I do build it up the look it creates is amazing, but I don't know if I like the fact that I'm using so much product at once. Anyone else feel this way?

I don't mind using my finger to apply this product, but the way I truly love to use this product is to apply it over my crease color to really add more depth to my looks. I'm going to continue to use this with different brushes and see if I can begin to use less product. If you have any suggestions for me on how to use this, please let me know!

I'd say in all I'd recommend this product, just don't like using so much of it. How do you feel about these eyeshadows? Are all of the colors formulated the same?

Products I've Been Loving: 1/1 - 1/12/2013!

Happy weekend to you all :) I decided to hold off on doing my products I've been loving post and just check in with you guys around the middle of January! January is a very exciting month for me, I always stay so busy and love kicking off the new year right! My golden birthday is in a week, hollah :) Which means I will be on a beauty buying kick this month so if you have product suggestions, please let me know! Until then, I will let you know the products I have been obsessing over lately :)

Profusion 88 Pro Eyeshadow Palette: I believe this is just like any of the other 88 color eyeshadow palettes. The pigmentation is great and the color payoff is amazing! I can definitely do lots of fun looks with this palette.

Maybelline Pure Stay Powder Foundation: Talked about this enough before. Just gotta add this little point. I wore this the morning of a photoshoot with my friends, where we took tons of pictures out in the cold and snow. My skin seriously look really good in all the pictures. I was so impressed that I could look basically flawless with no help from concealer or anything else.

Proactiv Refining Mask: Use this as a night spot treatment and it works great. Enough said.

Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Body Lotion: This stuff makes my skin feel great. The best part? It smells amazing and the scent lingers all day which I love. It really compliments the perfumes I use.

Maybelline The Rocket Mascara: Just did a review on this telling you my full thoughts on this product, so check that out if you want more info but this provides great length and volume for my baby lashes.

Sheer Cover Duo Concealer: I've used this to death. The right hand side is completely used up, just has left over residue that I can't use. I am now working on using up the left hand side since it matches my winter skin very well. This covers my redness like a dream, and does well with blemishes.

ELF Blush and Bronzer Palette: I got this over a year ago and it basically just sat in my collection and I never grabbed for it. Lately, I've been adoring the light pink blush, the light "bronzer" color which I use as a highlighter, and the darker bronzer. I believe this was part of their beauty school collection last year and this palette is seriously so good.

Bath and Body Works PocketBac's: This is just a product favorite in general. I love all of these but I had to share the Winter Cranberry one with you all because it makes my hands smell soooo good for hours. I love it. I only use hand sanitizer when it's cold and flu season, and if I'm in a pinch and need to sanitize before I eat at a restaurant or something. These are so handy and I'm glad bath and body works made some that actually smell good.

And lastly, as more of fitness favorite of mine, I am loving these hair ties! I own soooo many of them and they work so well in my thick hair! I only buy the cheap ones though, I refuse to pay like $15 for a couple hair ties. I am actually going to make some of these, so if you would like to know how I do that, let me know and I can make a blog post about it!

Maybelline The Rocket Mascara Review!

Let's talk mascara today. I made my first mascara purchase of 2013, hoorah! I'm so excited to share this one with you all.

I'm going to start off by letting you know my history with maybelline mascaras. Not a single one has worked for me yet! People rave about them all the time, but they just do not work for my barely there lashes. I have short lashes, so it is hard for me to find a mascara that works well for me. I tried the original falsies, it made me look like a hot mess. Maybelline one by one did NOTHING for my lashes, and I even bought the waterproof version that time. So finally, I decided to give Maybelline mascaras another try, and picked up the Rocket mascara.

The brush is on the bigger side, but this didn't cause problems for me. It is rubberized which is the type I honestly prefer and I had no problem reaching all of my lashes. It has lots of tiny little bristles that really reach each individual lash and provides length which I love. I also get volume as well but that is pretty obvious since it is part of the volum' express line. And this didn't clump on me even after two coats! I don't feel I need to combine this with another mascara to get good looking lashes. I am very impressed.

If you have sparse lashes like I do, I think you should give this a try! I'd love to know what you think. If you have any mascara recommendations, please let me know! I try out waaaay to many mascaras :)

Revlon Photoready BB Cream Review!

Hello everyone :) I think I am going to be back on a more regular blogging schedule, (fingers crossed)! Today I have been super busy but I just had to find some time to sit down and write this blog post for you all! I want to talk to you guys about the new Revlon Photoready BB cream. I love Revlon products, and even though I don't wear foundation often, I love the Revlon whipped foundation. So I thought maybe I would give this BB cream a try since Revlon rarely let's me down! I jotted down some notes of my first impression of it so I could share that with you, as well as my full on review of the product. Let's get down to business.

Let me start off by saying I have combination skin. Very acne prone, and more on the dry side in the winter time. So right now I do not have a problem with oil at all. Keep that in mind as I keep talking about this product!

First impression:
I thought this covered my redness pretty well. It seemed to even out my skin tone but obviously didn't cover up anything major like a blemish or dark spot. After a couple hours, I saw noticeable fading in the coverage. Booooo.

Lets check out those claims, shall we?
HYDRATES like moisturizer
SMOOTHES like primer
COVERS like foundation
BLURS FLAWS like concealer
PROTECTS with SPF 30 like sunscreen

I think this is very hydrating and does leave a dewy finish on the skin. I don't get the priming aspect at all in this product, it doesn't stick around on my face. It wears off really easily, and like I said, I'm not oily right now! Coverage is like I would expect from a BB cream. Doesn't act like a concealer at all in my opinion. And I'm sure the sunscreen part is true, however, it is freezing where I live so I am not spending time out in the sun.

So what are my overall thoughts? This product does lean more yellowy which works for my skin tone, just had to throw that in there for your information. I used this with a primer even and it still didn't stick around. Even when using my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte powder, I got oiler than heck from this product. I'm not sure what else I can do for that! It is winter, my skin is dry, and I look oily like it's 90 degrees outside. For that, I must say I did not enjoy this product. I am going to continue to play around with it and see if I can get it to work for me, but for now I am not too impressed. I am happy that this comes in a light pale option, the main reason I tried this to make sure it matched my fair skin. However, the shade selection is poor like all other BB creams, there are only three shades. I just don't know, love Revlon products but this one didn't do it for me. Just thankful it hasn't broke me out as of yet (knock on wood).
